Two days of science and collaboration – HEROES-AYA Retreat 2025

In early November, the HEROES-AYA consortium met at Schloss Unteröwisheim for its retreat. Researchers, clinicians, junior scientists, and patient representatives from all partner sites spent two highly interactive days sharing results, aligning next steps, and strengthening the collaboration that powers this initiative.
Particular appreciation is extended to the Deutsche Sarkom-Stiftung, whose partnership is critical to meaningful patient involvement in HEROES-AYA. Also extremely valuable was the exchange with the Scientific Advisory Board, whose thoughtful feedback helps sharpen the scientific and strategic direction of HEROES-AYA.
The retreat once again underscored what makes HEROES-AYA special: scientific excellence, genuine teamwork, and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for young people with cancer.
